How to calculate electricity bill:
The question "How to calculate electricity bill" is a unique question and it is a very amazing question that arises almost all house and mind and solution, I do not know what solution, what answer do you read but if you still here it means all answer and solution is different but incomplete.Because all sites have no information about tariff of charges and types of charges. I will show all detail information about calculating bill with examples of some states in India.
So firstly you need some data for calculation electricity bill.
1. Unit of electricity consumption on month
2. tariff rates of electricity on your state
3.calculator or copy-pen
if you get your electricity consumption for example 946 unit then follow these steps
now you need to find you tariff card for your state like I found the chart of CSPDCL for chhattisgarh state it is types domestic and non domestic
if you are use electricity for home use then it is under domestic category.
if you use it for others then it is non domestic category.
now forget all about its category but if you search for tariff chart you get two charts
1 EC
2 FC
Electricity Bill = Electricity Charge + Fix Charge + Sess + VCA + electricity duty
EC means electricity charge and FC means Fix Charge
For example old Tarrif rate for cspdcl
Unit slab in digit यूनिट स्लैब रु./यूनिट |
Electricity charge rs/unit ऊर्जा प्रभार रु./यूनिट |
Fix charge rs/unit
so lets start for calculation of 946 uni
so firstly we break 946 in to some segment that suits its tariff
946 unit
= 100 unit + 100 unit + 200 unit + 200 unit + 346 unit
unit | rate per unit | amount rs |
---|---|---|
100 | 1.00 | 100 * 1.00 = 100.00 |
100 | 1.10 | 100 * 1.10 = 110.00 |
200 | 1.70 | 200 * 1.70 = 340.00 |
200 | 2.00 | 200 * 2.00 = 400.00 |
346 | 2.45 | 2.45 * 346 = 847.70 |
Total | 1797.70 |
unit | rate/unit | amount rs |
---|---|---|
100 | 2.40 | 100 * 2.40 = 240.00 |
100 | 2.50 | 100 * 2.50 = 250.00 |
200 | 3.20 | 200 * 3.20 = 640.00 |
200 | 3.50 | 200 * 3.50 = 700.00 |
346 | 4.85 | 346 * 4.85 = 1678.10 |
Total | 3508.10 |
946 | 17 Paise/Unit | 160.82 |
---|
946 | 10 Paise/Unit | 94.60 |
---|
EC + VCA | Rate | Amount |
---|---|---|
1797.70 + 160.82 = 1982.52 | 8% | 157 |
Total = 1797.70 + 3508.10 + 160.82 + 94.60 + 157 = 5718.12 INR
simply break your unit into slab of tariff if your consumption is like 175 unit then you will break it into 100 and 75 unit and then apply first row rate for 100 and second rate for 75 unit for EC
and then repeat same calculation for FC column and add both of it and you will get your bill wihtout any taxes and then apply duty and sess and VCA and final bill is reade
